How to Measure Your Bracelet Size: Finding the Right Fit
Share
A bracelet should sit comfortably: not so tight that it pinches, and not so loose that it slides over your hand. The good news: you can find your bracelet size at home in just a few minutes – with a tape measure or even just a strip of paper.
In this guide, we show you step by step how to measure correctly, which sizes Concordia offers and what to bear in mind if you would like to give a bracelet as a gift.
Measuring your wrist: step by step
With a flexible tape measure
- Place the tape measure around your wrist just above the wrist bone – where you would wear a watch.
- Pull it so that it fits snugly without cutting in.
- Read the measurement in centimetres and make a note of it.
Without a tape measure: a strip of paper or string
No tape measure to hand? Wrap a narrow strip of paper or a piece of string around your wrist and mark the point where the ends meet. Then lay the strip flat next to a ruler and measure the length up to the mark.
Tips for an accurate result
- Measure twice and take the average.
- Measure the wrist on which you want to wear the bracelet – the two sides can differ slightly.
- Think about how you prefer to wear bracelets: close-fitting or rather loose.
Size chart for Concordia bracelets
The hand-woven cord bracelets by Concordia come in six sizes. The values are taken from the manufacturer's current price list:
| Size | Length |
|---|---|
| Baby | 13 cm |
| XS | 14.5 cm |
| S | 15.5 cm |
| M | 16.5 cm |
| L | 17.5 cm |
| XL | 18.5 cm |
According to Concordia, 4 cm of cord end is added on each side to the chosen size. The bracelet is fastened with an adjustable sliding clasp.
Compare your wrist measurement with the chart and choose the size closest to it. You select the size directly on the product page, for example for the Concordia Simple bracelet or the Concordia Dune bracelet.
Please note: Concordia bracelets are made according to your choice of size, gold colour and cord colour. So it is worth measuring once more – and if in doubt, write to us via our contact page before ordering.
Adjustable bracelets and Shape-Memory
Not every bracelet has a fixed size. Many models in our Bracelets category can be adjusted:
- Adjustable chains: According to its product description, the Maman et Sophie Onda bracelet adjusts up to 18.5 cm, and the Blue Heart bracelet in 18K yellow gold to 16.5, 17.5 or 19 cm.
- Textile band: The Friandise cord bracelet by Morganne Bello sits on an adjustable textile band.
- Shape-Memory: Magic Wire bracelets have a Shape-Memory core and adapt flexibly to the wrist – for example the three-row Angel bracelet.
You will find the exact length in each product description.
Between two sizes? How to decide
If your measurement falls exactly between two sizes, think about how you would like the bracelet to feel:
- For a close fit, choose the smaller size.
- For a looser fit with a little room, choose the larger size.
If you are unsure, we will be happy to advise you personally before you order.
Giving a bracelet when you don't know the size
A bracelet makes a lovely gift – only the size is often a mystery. These approaches can help:
- Measure an existing bracelet: Lay a bracelet the person likes to wear flat and measure its length from end to end, including the clasp.
- Ask discreetly: Family or friends often know the size – or can measure it unobtrusively.
- Go for adjustability: Adjustable chains, textile bands or Shape-Memory models adapt to different wrists.
